The city of Agadir located in southern Morocco, well after Casablanca and Marrakech.The Berber name of the city means "fortified granary" and the origin of the name is uncertain. The history of Agadir began during the 16th century when the city breaks free as a port. The trade is around following commodities: linen, sugar, skins or wax. With the emergence of the port of Essaouira, Agadir site declines gradually. At 1960, a symbolic date of Moroccan living memory, a terrible earthquake destroyed nearly the entire city and caused 15,000 deaths. Agadir has been rebuilt 2km south and tripled its population.
