Asni VALLEY - Getaways and Hikes

To reach this place, we will pass through landscapes of infinite subtlety. We imagine the comfort of our vehicle, style of life that the citizens had in a not so long ago. The mule tracks, the douars hillside or the shepherds leading their flocks are a constant reminder of the relativity of time. The arrival in Asni tends to break this contemplation. This village does not represent any particular interest but it marks the moment of choice between continuing straight Marigha, Ouirgane and Tizi n'Test or turn to Imlil and Jebel Toubkal, the highest point of the Atlas.

Imlil and the Toubkal Mount: make beautiful hikes

The charming village of Imlil mountain is the choke point for all hikers who wish to undertake the 4167 m of Toubkal Mount. Located 64 km from Marrakech, it is also a doorway to the National Toubkal superbeparc. Established in 1942 and covering an area of 38,000 hectares, this park offers the opportunity to make beautiful hikes. Over time, plateaus and cliffs alternate with deep gorges, cypresses alternate with junipers in an explosion of colors and scents.

However the attraction of Toubkal is at the heart of the life of Imlil. It provides most of the economic activity of the village and generates numerous initiatives. Everywhere you can find patented mountain guides or mule for the care of your camping equipment and bag. The experienced and physically fit will succeed the ascent of Toubkal and descent to Imlil in two days without any problems. The ideal time to do it is between June and September.

Marigha: getaways in nature

Separated from Asni by 10 Km, Marigha offers a striking contrast. So if Asni is a reproduction in scale model of urbanization of rural villages, Marigha still reflects the traditional lifestyle of the inhabitants of the region. Around the the village, orchards and olive groves succeed and we plunge into the time and serene simplicity of rural life.

The few tourist infrastructure of the village allow more comfortably enjoy this mountain countryside while varying activities. Ride the mountain by a bike rented at “Sanglier qui fume” or lazing by the pool of the Olive grove of Marigha, one can easily find a possibility of more or less active relaxation. Valley is especially nice in summer; Marigha region has many accommodation facilities. We particularly recommend “Sel d'Ailleurs”, a small guest house in Asni in a grove of 2 hectares with swimming pool.
